Phillies look at the Cards after Nats sweep

The Phillies came into tonight’s game against St. Louis very confident. Cole Hamels was starting the game tonight and it looked good for the Phils to go for even more wins on this road trip. Don’t tell that to the Cardinals that equally came into this game looking to win at home.

The Phillies had been cruising right along against the Nats pitching, but against Kyle Lohse, the Phils offense sputtered a bit but Pat Burrell did connect for his 27th HR against him. The Phils drop the first of a three game set to the Cards without the benefit of that offense tonight.
Cole Hamels went 6.0 innings giving up 5 runs which 4 were earned runs, he had 94 pitches with 60 strikes. He’s been giving up homeruns like crazy lately. He’ll get the loss and evens out to a 9-7 record.
